The Mystery of the 2012 Mayan Calendar
The 2012 Mayan calendar marks the end of the world as we know it. Many people believe that the 2012 Mayan calendar is the mark of the destruction of our world, an apocalyptic sort of end. Many natural disasters will occur and possibly extinct all human life. While others believe that it is a time of joy and of great self awareness and awakening, and possibly a global transformation of consciousness.
The mythology behind the 2012 legend focuses on the ancient Mayan Long Count calendar which was a Mesoamerican calendar system that mysteriously ends on December 21, 2012. The 2012 Mayan calendar also coincides with the winter solstice and the “galactic alignment” which is predicted to occur when our solar system passes directly through the galactic equator.
The Mayans believe that their 2012 Mayan calendar predicts merely the finishing point of a certain age or “underworld” (a galactic underworld) and the entry point into the universal underworld of conscious evolution and revolution. A collective rebirth or newfound cosmic awareness, if you will. An amazing era in which the human race expands their collective, conscious awareness.
The Mayan civilization inhabited several regions included southern Mexico, Guatemala, El Salvador, Belize and western Honduras. Their region flourished between the third and tenth centuries AD but by the 1200s the Spanish had taken over much of their land, but Mayan descendants still spoke the Mayan language, and historical records were kept in order to keep the Mayan way of life.
The way of life for the Mayan people revolved around time. Ancient priests were consulted on civil, religious and agricultural matters, and their advice would come from readings and teachings of the sacred Mayan calendars. They had many different calendars to track different things. The long count calendar being important as it counts the time between certain events and how they relate to each other. Time was so important that a lot of Mayans named their children after the date in which they were born. Thus the importance of the 2012 Mayan calendar.
The Mayans themselves have not predicted what will happen in 2012 just that their 2012 Mayan calendar ends at that time. There is nothing scientifically proven that anything will happen in December 2012 but many people predict or fear that things will.
Some possible scenarios include:
Asteroid/meteor/comet collides with earth, Coronal mass ejection (solar storm),
Magnetic pole shift, Explosion form the black hole at the centre of our galaxy,
Religious apocalypse, Alien invasion, Gamma ray burst, flu pandemic,
Nuclear/biological war, Super volcano, Global warming, Nanotechnology and
Genetic modification, just to name a few.
Other people believe that the 2012 Mayan calendar predicts the start of something better for our planet. The global shift of conciseness and a spiritual revolution of sorts. 2012 is not basically true there is no evidence that the erarth is under anhilition. In fact the earth will remain but there are changes could happen with the wicked and good peole that refers to the true believers of God under his reigning king Jesus christ and jehova will restore the paradise on earth.
I appreciate those information, it is true that many of my friends and I have been feeling and managing things differently. we have tried so many things but secular systems are not fit for us no more. i really think that things will keep on happening (destruction and construction) and that it will be a new era. We can see all those natural disasters succeeding each other but also religions escalading disputes and spiritual monopoly war and people like us so more peaceful, positive and constructive… leaving the limits behind and creating a different world, a different reality, different relationships. Love is the key, love ourselves, others, earth, the universe and keep on moving forward.

It is known that this is the dawning of a new age, to believe it is doom and gloom is giving power to the scaremongers who profit from projecting such thoughts onto the unaware and unwakened. Simply cast your minds to the realization that our elders were singing songs in the 60′s of the Age of Aquarius, well hello people we are there! The true World that we live in is one where we are unified in our collective vibration or thoughts if you like, in order to reach our full potential BEFORE 2012 so that we can joyfully ascend through the Photon Belt or Equator of the Cosmos if you rather, NOW is the imperitive time for all to find peace and love within self and others. Do not point the finger of blame, look inside you for the true answers to how you should be conducting your life. We live in a false World that will very soon no longer be. I have been in the studies of the mayan culture for some time now and if you still have nota good understanding of this look at every thing the past hunderd years that they have said would happen and the times in which they said it would happen, thier steps in thier towers also have meaning to them as far as how many they predect as well I am not a exspert but they know somw thing and they have been doing this for 100′s of years and they are some of the most life giving, life loving kindest people that you will ever meet in this day and age they walk thru life in total peace. thank about that total peace with life,nature,people,earth,if we dont learn anything eles we need to learn this.
I agree…. And disagree…first if all I agree because all the other warnings were all about scientifically saying it was the end of the world in 1999 and than again in 2006.. But this time it has something to do with ancient times and god.. But than also they have Absolutley no proof that it will happen in 2012. Except that the myans calendar ended. BUT what if they just needed a new calender.. Would they reLly have a never ending calendar.. But than all of things can happen in 2012. Like natural disasters.. But than it is scary that they made a movie about it, a song and then on the news 5000 blackbirds with red wings fell from the sky for no reason at all in Louisiana and another place..and 100 000 fish rolled up unthaw sea shore dead again.. Just like the birds.. Scarifying is that it all happenned on the night of new years 2011.. But over all I have to say I believe that’s the 2012 end of the world will happen and That we just have to believe in god and be thankfull fir our lives and live up to the greatest

It seems that all the predictions were of calamities since the beginning of the calender. Both World Wars, etc, I can hardly believe that this one is going to be about peace and enlightenment. If anything big happens it will be physical, natural, and probably destructive.
Hey, do not worry. Just live. live! The Mayans were telling us to forget the constraints of time and space and and grow. We fail to see this in attemptes to capitalize on anything we can get our greedy, needy, little hands on. The Mayans were wonderful to humankind, but are the legacy. When all these negative thoughts are done and life goes on all that is true in the begining and in the end is LOVE. Simple love. I am an Army Green Beret. I have been everywhere, seen every bad place on Earth and found the most beautiful places, all in one breath. Organized religion is “hell”. I confines the soul, and weakens the spirit of man. I fought everywhere and realized we were all fighting for the same garbage. All religions believe in GOD at the top of their religion. So I say this why would one be so ignorant as to think that there is only one way to become more GOD like. Christians, Muslims, Budists, Hindi, who ever else have missed the picture. The big picture. All GOD did was try to teach, in every culture, LOVE. All there is are guidelines for love. In the begining and the end only Love is True. What you think about, comes about.
