Signs of the Biblical apocalypse are foretold to us in The Book of Revelation by an all knowing, all seeing God and written by John of Patmos, around 100AD, to be delivered to the seven churches. The scripture tells us of what will occur to tell us the end of this world is approaching. Modern science confirms the world will end and it correlates to the biblical prophesies.

Science and the gospel agree that the seven signs of the apocalypse are occurring as have been revealed in scripture. Where they diverge is whether or not the disasters, plagues and catastrophes are occurring based on a master plan or through natural circumstances of life and physics.

Scientists try to understand earthquakes, plagues and natural disasters, and attempt to predict and explain them; however scientific explanations are not necessary. If God decides one will occur, it will happen, and there will be a crescendo of disasters as Bible prophecy states.

Apocalypse means, “A veil lifted”, and God through His grace has provided us the signs that the end of the world is coming so we can be prepared to meet Him and to be patient until that time. God has written on a scroll sealed with 7 seals all that is to take place. With the breaking of each seal is a new disaster.

As God releases his fury in the end times through a massive global earthquake like nothing before, simultaneous around the world, mountains, islands and cities are going to be levelled. A supernatural event this destructive would have to be an act of God.

God is trying to shake the human race awake to realize their need for Him else we will feel the wrath of God’s judgement. The unprecedented size and destruction of events will destroy life on the planet. It is a matter of when, not if.

There are currently super-volcanoes scattered across the globe that can emit 100 cubic kilometres or more of hot gasses and ash. Scientists know of at least 8 in existence and are hard to find as they are not in the form of a mountain. Several are in the USA, one is in Yellowstone. Science and the scripture agree our prospects will be bleak and there is little we can do in preparation for the consequences.

Another link to the impending apocalypse is global warming. The escalation of heat will scorch mankind causing 50% of the earth’s population to die. Rise in sea level due to melting glaciers, intensified hurricanes, drought, strife, conflict, increased terrorism are all part of the chain reaction.

God has given angels power to impose His wrath on the earth and its people when the time is right. The last days will be filled with wars, rumours of wars, plagues, disasters, earthquakes, water turning to blood so it is not life preserving, but life taking. These are things that have already happened and continue to happen.

Occurrences of catastrophes that are currently taking place are revealed in scripture prophecies and described in the Book of Revelation. God has disclosed to us what will transpire in order for the end of the world as we know it to take place.

The key to decoding the end times is found in the Book of Revelation as documented by God’s servant John, and was also prophesized in the Book of Daniel. The mystery of God will be accomplished in the days when the seventh angel is about to sound his trumpet.

According to Bible prophesy, once the angel’s trumpet has sounded, flashes of lightning, rumblings, peals of thunder, an earthquake and a great hailstorm takes place. This allows us to identify the end times through the seven signs and know that God is in control of all things, and as written, survivors will be terrified and will give glory to the God of heaven.

Since Christ’s death and resurrection, there have been false prophets and imposters posing as Christ. The anti-Christ will come to persuade people to worship him instead of God our father and unless we arm ourselves with His gospel word, we can be led astray.

Global pandemics, Tsunamis, earthquakes like never seen before, food shortages, water turning to blood killing the sea creatures and making it undrinkable, wars and rumours of wars are all prophesized in the bible as being the roles for the four horsemen of the apocalypse. We have already seen these things take place. Global war will be the final battle between good and evil – Armageddon.

Scientists identify the arctic ice caps melting drastically. We have seen masses of dead sea creatures on beaches and the water looking like blood due to Red Tide algae creates a potent toxin.

The darkening of the sun and the moon turning into blood are signs of the great tribulation in the last days. This is nothing created by man, but God decides to turn the light out. The purpose for the warning signs that mark the beginning of the end times Biblical Apocalypse is to provide us with awareness of what is to take place and the opportunity to turn to God.

This apocalyptic movie 2012 depicting the end of days from the Mayan Calendar, when the end of the world is predicted on the date December 21, 2012 is sure to thrill those who enjoy special effects and lots of visual stimulations.

Of the two main characters in the movie, one is Jackson Curtis played by John Cusack as a failed writer and over protective dad who just wants to save his family from imminent death and will do anything to do just that.

The other is Adrian Helmsley played by Chiwetel Ejiofor is a geologist who advises the white house, shows his love of humanity by trying to save as many people as he can.

In 2012, the President of the United States played by Danny Glover, shows a surprisingly human side for a politician when he refuses to leave his country and people and stays behind to warn everyone that the end is near so they can have time to say goodbye to their loved ones.

The 2012 movie is opened by Adrian and some of his scientist friends in India have discovered that the centre of the earth is heating up causing the earth’s crust to separate, forming fractures in the earth and multiple earthquakes.

There are many great special effects depicting major earthquakes, sink holes, volcanoes, fire bombs, floods, tsunamis, collapsing buildings, planes etc to hold the audience attention. Seeing the people fall from the collapsing buildings gave one’s heart to stop remembering 9/11, making the disasters almost believable.

The whole 2012 movie moves around different characters in the world who have bought tickets to three massive futuristic ships built by the Chinese people. All heads of states, politicians and anyone else who is rich enough to afford the 1 billion Euros per ticket, can and will be saved. All others are screwed and doomed to die.

The two main characters have enough acting intelligence and voracity to hold your attention to the plot but without them I would have been bored. The plot does not hold its own. It does not portray any scientific data or religious beliefs or truths to justify the end of days and why the earth is doomed, and so quickly. It just screams the end is coming so you better ……..run!

If you like special effects, this is the movie for you. If you are expecting a plot you will unfortunately be disappointed. I think this movie may make people think. Think about their own mortality and the coming end of days. Whether you believe it will happen on December 21, 2012 as the movie suggests, or sometime in our lifetime, our children`s lifetime or our grand children`s lifetime, the end of the world is sure to happen as nothing lasts forever.

Consensus is that the world will come to an end through a cataclysmic event, a doomsday. Many beliefs and religions exist that correspond to the same outcome of events, prophesying the end of the world. If one believes the world is created through random events that occurred and will continue to occur, then their mindset should be challenged by the many reports, documents and oracles of end times approaching and how it will take place.

The number of prophesies that agree to the 2012 doomsday date is astounding.

Some of the sources predicting what will happen at the end of time are the Bible, the Sybil, the Mayans, Merlin, Yì Jīng, Mother Shipton and the most recent high tech WWW web-bot. Only the Bible does not include an exact date, but the signs to watch for. The balance of the psychics, referred to as oracles, concurs on an end date in 2012 AD.

Through the bible we are told no man has the power to know when the end day will be, but to watch for signs and be ready. This has not deterred many who attempt to determine the exact date. Many predictions have been accurate which gains credibility to the source.

The ancient Romans believed in an oracle named The Sybil. They believed she was a priestess that would be possessed by the god Apollo who would tell her prophesies while she was in a trance. She would then write them on leaves.

Some of her predictions included the 10th generation would be turmoil and destruction, ending the world as we know it. It is said that the Sybil predicted the coming of Christ in 20BC, climate changes and tsunamis. Events that seem to fulfill her prophesy.

Since that time, it has been discovered that gas in Delphi Greece, may have inspired her trances, and that she chewed on psychotropic leaves which may have also created her altered state. As well a fault line was found that emits ethylene gas, which creates hallucinations. Ambiguity may have led to successful fulfillment of her prophesies.

The South American Mayans of the 6th to 9th century AD were obsessed with calendar keeping. They accurately predicted solar eclipses thousands of years in the future, as well as specific events such as when the white man would arrive, their destruction and world transformation taking place.

The Mayans also noted the black hole in the centre of our galaxy, and the winter solstice alignment of the solar system in December 2012 predicting a cataclysmic event; a gravitational pole shift that will cause world wide disaster, planet catastrophe, destruction and extinction.

A European oracle, who predicted terrorist attacks, was called Merlin. Legends of Merlin stem from England, dating from the 5th century. He was looked at as part demon. It is believed that Merlin the Wild was a title, rather than a name, and there are a few men who can be attributed to the title.

Merlin predicted events such as the 1st American colony on virgin soil, horrors of the Nazi holocaust, 21st century cell phones, disasters in Great Britain such as power stations melting down causing 20 000 to die. As well, Merlin predicted The River Thames turning to blood, global warming and apocalypse. Astrological planets run riot out of alignment, movement of earth’s rotation implying polar shift

Yì Jīng, or I Ching, is the Chinese book of changes which prophesies the end of the world in 2012. It is approximately 5000 years old, originating around 200BC and is used for fortune telling. Its vague statements provide something for everyone. Ask a question and it can provide a relevant answer.

In the past decades the I Ching has become an oracle of doom via Terence McKenna. In the 1970s, McKenna mapped the I Ching’s 64 hexagrams and found they correlate to the interconnectedness of the universe, corresponding to major shifts in humanity, and through his graphical interpretation, predicted an end time date in 2012.

Another oracle originates from England, called Mother Shipton, who was born in the late 1400’s. She foretold the death of Henry 8th, named Queen Victoria, predicted WW1 & WW2. Although original texts are not found, people wrote books on her oral predictions of global progress followed by doomsday and attributed them to Mother Shipton.

The Hopi Indian tribe located in the USA during the late 1940s prepared for world destruction. They believed the world had already gone through four transitions and was about to transition to the 5th world. This event would be a doomsday, with earth quakes, the sea rising, the sun turning hotter, melting glaciers that create rising water. In the end of days the world will crisscross by webs. Does this allude to the World Wide Web?

The Webbot project that began in the 1990’s was created to scan the World Wide Web for hints to predict stock futures. It reports back ambiguous particulars, analysing and attempting to read the unconscious mood of the world through website spiders.

The Webbot combs the internet looking for key words of interest, and aggregates the reads. The predictions became ominous. In 2001 an analyst realised predictions of the terrorist’s attacks of 9-11. There have been a series of accurate predictions such as tsunamis, anthrax attacks, and hurricane Katrina. Now they say it is predicting serious events in 2012.

The most famous predictions of doomsday are in the Bible. Apocalypse is prophesised in Revelations. John the apostle documents the fight of good verses evil and foresees global warfare centred in the Middle East and the rise of the anti-Christ.

Although it is unanimous through these sources that destruction and desolation is imminent, there is one hope. The most positive end time event is revealed in the Christian bible. Through rapture, the saved, being those who believe in Christ as the Saviour, will be spared the fire and brimstone and brought to heaven prior to the destruction of this world as we know it.

Ancient oracles prophesies correlate to something dire occurring in today’s time. The end time and coming apocalypse has always been predicted as imminent. Various predictions of the destruction phenomenon mesh with a global cataclysm in 2012. Is it random noise or real prophesy?

December 21, 2012 is a significant date for those who espouse the predictions of the Mayan calendar. This date portends a dire outcome for the world and our people. It is important to understand how and why this date was arrived upon.

The year 2012 is earmarked as being one of cataclysmic events because it augurs the end of the Mesoamerican Long count calendar which is 5, 125 years in duration and which ends December 21 or 23, 2012. A great deal of speculation has been attached to this year and date. Subsequently, it is suggested that this augurs the end of the world as we know it.

Insofar as a world catastrophe occurring, 2012, predictions of any sort are generally dismissed as pseudo science. The scientific community does not subscribe to the notion of a catastrophe occurring in order to lend legitimacy to ancient prophecy.

There are two diverse branches of thought regarding the coming of this date. To some, 2012 predictions are of a dire and cataclysmic nature. It is suggested that the year of 2012 is the time of the apocalypse, or end of the world. Conversely, it is also thought that the way we know the world now will be diametrically different, and there s no negative connotation to this second theory.

Predictions for 2012, by those who envision an end of days scenario portend a series of cataclysmic events, both man made and natural, which culminate in the world ending. It is suggested that because of astronomic occurrences that affect the magnetic field of the earth will cause grave harm. It is suggested that the reason the polar ice caps are melting, not because of global warming, but because of a shift in the earth’s magnetic fields. This shift in turn, will adversely affect the planet.

The occurrences of global economic crisis, environmental catastrophes, and political tensions are suggested to be the inevitable built-up in world crises that will culminate with a complete state change for the world and its population. These predictions have been alluded to by Edgar Cayce, Nostradamus as well as ancient civilizations like the Mayans.

Insofar as predictions for 2012, there is a lot of credence attached to a negative outcome. Ancient prophecies have predicted, with a degree of accuracy, events that have transpired. The disasters of recent world events are often attributed to the prophecies of ancient times coming to fruition.

With regard to predictions, it is certainly evident that there have been vast and disturbing weather changes. Also, we have experienced world-wide economic crises unprecedented in history. Military tensions throughout the globe are teetering on a precipice.

In addition, there is the prediction that the planet Nibiru is on a collision course with the earth, and this catastrophe is predicted to transpire in the year 2012. This is in accordance to the Mayan calendar. December 21st, of that year is when this calendar officials ends.

The idea of this planet being on a collision course with Earth causes the most concern with regard to 2012 predictions. There is indication that such a calamity is in the offing. There are many organizations emerging that are suggesting strategies to mitigate the potential disaster or avert it.

The New Agers hypothesis suggests that the year 2012 will be a time of spiritual awakening, and embracing of a collective consciousness that will serve to improve the existence of mankind. This 2012 prediction is downplayed, compared to more dire predictions, since forecasts of catastrophe have a tendency to capture the imagination far more.

.

It is significant; however, that many groups are developing that devotes their work to preparing for the possibility of the world ending in this manner, that this dire 2012 prediction will come true. They are working on strategies to cope with, or alleviate the end of days portended by the Mayans. There is even a feature film about this phenomenon shortly to be released.

To summarize, predictions for 2012, are just that-predictions. There have been numerous times when the interpretations of ancient wisdoms have been misinterpreted or misconstrued. The outcome for 2012 remains to be seen.

There are people that believe the Mayan 2012 calendar date of December 21st or 23rd may identify the end of civilization or possibly the commencement of apocalypse. The predictions based on ancient records can range from a non-event to a spiritual shift in attitudes to annihilation.

The Mayan group of Mesoamericans formulated the long count calendar based on astronomy, and when translated in one fashion into current date format, can be interpreted to end in December on the 2012 calendar. This correlation between the Long Count and Western calendars has caused speculation and predictions to flourish.

Although there is no consensus among Mayan researchers, it is a popular notion to devise the end time as correlating to their ancient records by the long count calendar. The Long Count calendar identifies a day by counting the number of days passed since a creation date or zero date which was 13.0.0.0.0 that corresponds to August 11, 3114 BC and completes its life cycle on a date corresponding to approximately December 21st, on the 2012 calendar.

The Mesoamerican culture used a 260 day ceremonial calendar, which had 20 periods of 13 days, as well as the 365 day solar calendar. The two calendars would then coincide every 52 years. They then devised the long count calendar to measure dates beyond the 52 years. Due to lack of consistency in formulas used, there is much debate as to the actual corresponding dates but is a popular belief that the Mayan calendar predicts the end of time as we know it on the 2012 calendar.

Researchers generally believe that the long count calendar was in existence prior to the Mayans due to where artifacts have been found in and around Mexico. The Mayans elaborated on the calendar through astrological tables that were used exclusively by the Mayan astronomers to forecast solstices, equinoxes, the path of the planets in our solar system and other celestial phenomena. The long count calendar can be translated to complete its cycle in the 2012 calendar year.

In Mayan mythology each Long Count cycle is a world age and forms the basis for a New Age belief that a cataclysmic event will occur on the Western 2012 calendar on or about December 21st. This forecast is considered by Mayan scholars to be a misinterpretation, yet is commonly referenced in media as the 2012 calendar doomsday prophesies.

If we assume that the current age completes on December 21 on the 2012 calendar, and a new age begins, what type of metamorphosis will occur? Various writings and calculations can be used to predict floods, earthquakes, or implosions of the universe. Non-biblically based prophesies are thought provoking and entertaining, but should be considered in the context they were derived.

We can all contemplate our existence, the reason for it and how we live our lives and our purpose here. No matter the date, whether it is in the 2012 calendar year, today or in a hundred years, we will all meet our maker through some event taking place, and we do need to prepare for that moment in time.

The great tribulation will take place and the signs and events that will take place have and are occurring. Can man attempt to pinpoint the exact date in time as to the end of the world in the 2012 calendar year? It is written that no man can know, but we are each responsible for preparing ourselves through our faith and beliefs.

View our resources and consider the prophesies, the source and your own beliefs. The 2012 calendar predictions are intriguing.

The year 2012 is a significant year insofar as the Mayan culture is concerned. It is the final year of its 5,125 year calendar. December 21, 2012 is demarcated as the last day displayed on this calendar.

The Mayan calendar is a detailed system of calendars and almanacs used by the Maya civilization of pre-Columbian Mesoamerica. It is still used in modern Guatemala. Along with those of the Aztecs, the Mayan calendar is the best documented, and best understood. The deity, Itzamna, is credited with bringing the calendar system to ancient Maya.

The Mayan calendar is constructed on the basis of a 26,000 year cycle. This large cycle is in turn comprised of five lesser cycles that consist of 5, 125 years. Each of these time periods is known as a creation cycle.

Each of these Mayan cycles is said to be ruled and destroyed by one of the five elements. The rulerships are 4 Jaguar, Wind, Rain and Water. Our present great time period spans from 3113 B.C. to 2012 A.D.

The date which the world entered the fourth World is August 13, 3113 B.C. Each element endures a 5, 125 year cycle. It is taught that we have been through the time periods ruled by earth, fire, air and water already. The next cycle, the fifth cycle, commences December 21, 2012.

This coming cycle, 2012, after December 21, will be regarded by the Mayans, as the age of Centre. As we are close to closing on the Forth World of Destruction, we are poised to begin the Fifth World of Peace.

This new age of rebirth, is 2012, according to the Mayans is at odds with the doomsday theory scenario that is so prevalent now. The date of December 21, 2012 has, by many accounts dire and negative connotations.

As the world moves towards this year of 2012, there is great speculation that this will be the end of the world. It is widely hypothesized that December 21 will in fact, be Armageddon. The prophesies of the ancients are elucidating, but are subject to interpretation.

In its positive aspect, it will indicate the end of the world as we know it now. It seems telling that this is the last date scribed on the Mayan calendar. But again, this is an observation that is open to interpretation, and there are many speculations.

December 21, 2012, in accordance with Mayan prophecy augurs an astronomic occurs which suggests that an asteroid will be on a collision course with the earth. As a result of this knowledge, societies and organizations have begun to proliferate in an attempt to study the ramifications of such a cataclysmic event. There is even a feature film that is due to be released shortly describing how the events of 2012 will unfold.

There is also the suggestion that the magnetic fields of the earth will endure a radical change, with dire results. It is said that these fields are already in transition, and this, not global warming have contributed to the bizarre climate change the world is experiencing. The Mayan almanacs had predicted such a shift in their calculations.

Part of the Mayan mystique of 2012 is based in astronomy. During the winter solstice of that year, the sun will be aligned with the Milky Way for the first time in 26,000 years. This indicates a disruption of energy to the earth during this time period.

The fact that this, compounded by the fact that December 21, 2012 is the last date of the Mayan calendar does not guarantee the end of mankind. It is a unique event , to be sure. However, it is being sensationalized, because it is human nature to think in terms of the worst case scenario.

In summary, the wisdom of the Mayans should be revered for the contribution that they made in the advancement of mathematics and astronomy. The teachings should be studied, but not interpreted and used to promote doomsday agendas. December 21, 2012 should signify a new age, in that it has not been documented by the Mayans. No more conclusions should be drawn, until there is scientific substantiation to do so.

In the year 2012, there are predictions of cataclysmic events or apocalypse based on an interpretation of the end-date of the Mesoamerican Long Count calendar. The specific date is deduced to be on either December 21st or 23rd.

Mesoamerica is a region and culture area stretching from around central Mexico to Honduras and Nicaragua, and their calendar began on a date equivalent to 11 August, 3114 BC. Noted for the only known fully developed written language of the pre-Columbian Americas, as well as its art, architecture, and mathematical and astronomical systems is a Mesoamerican civilization known at the Maya.

Theorists suggest that The Maya predicted that Armageddon would occur and on the final day our present universe would be annihilated on December 23, 2012, when the Great Cycle of the Long Count reaches completion. Many different Maya city-states employed the Long Count in different ways and the idea of an actual completion of the calendar itself is argued.

The Long Count set its start at a point in the past marking the end of the previous world and the beginning of the current one, which corresponds to either 11 or 13 August 3114 depending on the formula used. Mayan date 13.0.0.0.0, corresponds with the Western calendar as either December 21 or December 23, 2012, and also corresponds to the Maya calendar start date.

The notion of a worldwide event occurring in the year 2012 based on any interpretation of the Mesoamerican Long Count calendar is abandoned as a misrepresentation of Maya history by Mayanist scholars. There is no consensus as to what the Maya end date actually is but it appears there is a correlation that the calendar was motivated by a long-range astronomical prediction, one that forecasted 2,367 years into the future in 355 B.C.

2012 is further citied as being a time of sociological cultural change as opposed to the end time however it is more sensational to regard it as a doomsday event and is being circulated through various mediums, such as books, documentaries and movies. Predictions can be popular sellers, especially if you attempt to affect the masses.

When we look at the Christian bible, there is no reference to the year 2012 and we are actually told no man can know the date of the end of this world, but the signs are made visible. Yet man has an intrinsic desire to know when it will happen, and tend to agree it will be rough.

Awareness that indeed there will be an end to this world, whether it is in 2012, or another year, is a commonly held belief. Generating ideas about what will happen when is a great seller due to the fact we all know we will not be on this world forever, however no man has the power to say when we will leave it.

It is fascinating to see and hear what people believe but it is up to us to decipher the truth. 2012 events are theories developed for entertainment and consideration, and through technology can be visually gripping to watch. Let us not forget that any moment can be our last.
